100 Capsules  500 mg - Deodorized

Garlic has been used as a medicine and a food since the time of the Egyptian Pharaohs, the earliest Chinese dynasties, Ancient Hebrews, Greeks, and Romans.  While building the pyramids, the Egyptians ate garlic to increase their strength and endurance.  Native Americans used garlic to treat abdominal cancer.  The Europeans used it during the plague years to provide immunity.  It was Louis Pasteur that found that garlic contains antibiotic properties.
Garlic has been known for centuries to function as a natural antibiotic.  It destroys the unnecessary and harmful bacteria throughout the human system.  It emulsifies cholesterol and loosens it from arterial walls; it’s used for healing high blood pressure, prevents blood clotting, for helping to prevent certain types of cancer, and for its use as an immune stimulant.  It is also effective in arresting intestinal putrefaction, it is used against contagious diseases, fevers, parasites, worms, nicotine poisoning, protects the liver from drugs and toxins, colic, and yeast infections. Actually, I could go on and on.
Fresh garlic has many active constituents including alliin, allicin, alliinase and unique sulphur compounds.  Allicin and the sulphur compounds are the ingredients primarily responsible for garlic’s potency as an antibiotic and fungicide.  Therefore this is the preferred form for this herb’s most potent, all encompassing action. FRESH.  Second choice would include dried/powdered form, a commercially prepared form. Or in its homemade garlic oil form (usually for infants or small children).  Do not cook garlic, it loses all of its healing properties. So if you’re thinking you’re covered because you used a lot of garlic in your recipes, you’re not.
Garlic also contains significant amounts of the trace minerals selenium and germanium, as well as vitamins A and C.  These are important in strengthening the nerves and skin. Garlic is high in phosphorus. Which is essential for functions of the brain and nervous system, promotes hormone secretion, protects the heart and cells, and aids in acid/alkaline balance in the blood.  Potassium is also found which may help prevent heart attacks, hypoglycemic blackouts, protects from germs accumulating in the tissues, strengthens the spleen and liver against disorders, and aids as acid stomach.  It is high in sulphur, which protects the cells from a build-up of toxins, dissolves acids in the body, and improves circulation.  And also contains magnesium, sodium, iron, manganese, and B-complex vitamins.

While desired changes in blood pressure and cholesterol may occur after taking as little as 600 mg of garlic in tablet or capsule form daily for several weeks, taking more than 900 mg of garlic a day is not likely to offer any additional benefit.  If you are taking blood thinning drugs such as Coumadin, you should avoid using garlic medicinally because the herb adds to the drug’s effects.  Because garlic decreases the blood’s clotting tendency, you should discuss the use of garlic with your physician before undergoing any type of surgery.  Garlic increases the effectiveness of selenium in nutritional treatment of breast cancer.  Nursing mothers should use garlic with caution because it can contribute to colic in some babies.
