Herbs to create truly magical weddings.

Wedding blends of dried herbs with symbolic meanings are herbal
blessings for the bride and groom.  They are a botanical mix, not
Potpourri.  ( Potpourri is made from dried plant material chosen for
its fragrance, shape, texture, and color that is combined with
scented oils to create an aromatic and visually beautiful mixture.
A botanical blend is simply measured and mixed.)  The pleasant
fragrance of the wedding herbs comes from the natural scent of the
plant material, the symbolism from ancient tradition.
Use wedding herbs to stew before the bride, to shower the bridal
couple, or to fill sachets or little boxes as favors for each guest.
You can also sprinkle a pinch of wedding herbs into shower or wedding
invitations and thank-you notes.
My favorite blend includes rose bud and petals symbolizing love, marjoram symbolizing joy and happiness, sage symbolizing long life, good health and domestic virtues, rosemary symbolizing fidelity, love, loyalty and remembrance, lavender symbolizing devotion, love, protection, happiness and peace, and a little dried ivy
symbolizing friendship, fidelity and marriage.
Recipe:

      4 parts dried rose petals
1 part dried sweet marjoram leaves
      1 part dried sage leaves
      1 part dried rosemary leaves
      1 part dried lavender blossoms
      Dried ivy leaves

Gently combine all ingredients except the ivy in a large mixing bowl.
Mix together gently with a big spoon.  That's all there is to it!
Store the wedding herbs in an airtight container, away for heat and
light, until they are needed, or use them to fill sachets or boxes
for your favors.  Tie or hot-glue one dried ivy leaf on the top of
each sachet or box.  I think making a little card or having a ribbon
printed that tells the meaning of each herb makes a special keepsake.
You might consider making your bouquet of the same fresh fragrant
flowers and herbs.  You could add some Queen Anne's lace, white
larkspur, hyssop and peppermint.  This makes a beautiful bouquet.
The groom’s boutonnière can be made with a single rose bud for love,
surrounded with Pearl yarrow that adds button-shaped white blossoms,
a sprig of rosemary for remembrance, and ivy for friendship.  An
herbal wreath for the flower girls hair would be wonderful.  And for
the ring bearer (your pooch), he can get a festive collar made of
ivy, sage, rosemary, garlic chive flowers, hyssop, double feverfew
and yarrow. Then attach a ring pillow sachet to it.

All the dried herbs mentioned are available by the ounce to blen your own mixture.
