INGREDIENTS:
SLIPPERY ELM – acts as an internal poultice, reducing over-acid secretions and soothing inflammation. Also is specifically for digestive problems and diarrhea.
COMFREY LEAF – this herb is specific for gastric ulcers; its mucilaginous content will soothe and heal
MARSHMALLOW ROOT – being demulcent and mucilaginous, it is ideal for the treatment of inflammation and ulceration of the digestive system.
LIQUORICE ROOT - excellent for ulcers; when ingested, it produces a thick sticky mucus which will reduce gastric acid and encourage healing.
QUEEN OF THE MEADOW – particularly effective when used for ulcers, resulting from drug use or poisoning. It is one of the best all-round herbs for the digestive system and will soothe mucous membranes in the digestive tract, reducing excess acidity and associated pain.
ROSEHIPS – will provide plenty of vitamin C. High vitamin C levels will help the horse fight off infections and restore its defences. Also a mild astringent, and will help with scouring. They are used most successfully as part of a mixture of herbs to help horses return to full health after lengthy illness.
